The creed

HeyOtto never sends never itself.

Six articles we hold to. They are here so you can hold us to them — and so you know in advance when we are not your product.

I

HeyOtto never sends on its own.

You press send. Always. This is not a setting you can flip and not a promise we can quietly break later: the mail pipeline simply has no send function. A mail leaves only after a human clicks.

Structurally enforced: no background task in HeyOtto can send mail.
II

Your mail stays yours.

Hosted in Europe, by a Belgian company. You may use your own AI key — then your mail runs under your contract, not ours. We do not use your mail to train our AI: that switch is off by default and only goes on if you turn it on yourself.

III

HeyOtto writes the way you write.

It learns your tone from your own sent mail — not from some general idea of "business writing". And we explicitly instruct it to invent nothing that is not in the context: better a short draft than a fluent fabrication.

IV

No noise.

No "thanks for your message", no "I hope you are well". HeyOtto cuts what you would cut and gets straight to the point.

V

One draft, not ten.

Exactly one reply is ready per conversation. No menu of variants for you to choose between — that is precisely the work we are taking off your hands.

VI

HeyOtto is not for everyone.

We take on a limited number of firms each month, because every onboarding is personal. And we say no to anyone looking for an assistant that replies automatically in their name. We would rather say that up front than afterwards.

What we are against

What we deliberately do not build

  • AI that mails in your name without you having read it. The whole market is racing towards autonomous agents; we are the product that deliberately does not have that button.
  • Commitments you did not make. An assistant that confirms a deadline on a lawyer's behalf is not a product bug but professional negligence.
  • Your mail on servers outside Europe, under a legal system that is not yours.
  • A free tier in which you are the product. You pay us with money, not with your mail.
